This map represents one of the reasons I am honored to be working with the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting to bring global education into more classrooms — particularly in communities where families can’t afford to travel to new countries, and where school budgets are under severe pressure.

This infographic depicts where US news coverage is focused.  If we don’t see or hear about most of the nations in our global community, how will we know about them? And more importantly, how will we care?
